History of Spanish Language
Taught in Spanish. This course examines grammar and structure of the Spanish
language. Students learn about topics such as: how words are divided into meaningful
units, how these units can create other words and build vocabulary, how sentences are
structured based on rule-governed and predictable patterns, and why some phrases are
permitted to move around within sentences while others are not. Students also learn
about meaning and appropriateness in spoken and written Spanish.
Prerequisites: SP250 or permission of the Department.
